Is this clarification long overdue, or what? It’s about fucking time. Talk about a delayed reaction. I’m glad they finally got around to it. On the positive side, it’s nice to see a Linden Lab post that isn’t so vague.

Neko ears and flexi whiskers. The set (L$98) also came with a flexi tail, but it didn’t look so hot. I’ve yet to find a really nice-looking feline tail in-world. Oh, the insides of the ears are supposed to be partially pink, but it’s hard to distinguish from the white when the Second Life sun is fully up. I was too tired last night to start messing around with lighting. Even virtual shopping can wear you out. It’s all that lag.

The PixelPulse archive is not finished yet. I still need to add a few stories that I saved on my desktop before the site went offline. I also copied a number of posts from Apogeevr.com, and I’ll likely be re-posting those here, as well.

Farewell to land

I had to get rid of the 5,248 square meters in Orion that I owned because it was draining my Linden account constantly. It was costing me L$1,615 weekly. I had a blast there for the couple of years (I think) that I resided inside my notorious castle, but now it’s time to move on. My new rez site is now at the Warmouth Infohub. So I’m nomadic again — just like in the old days. I’m going to enjoy it for a while and then maybe I’ll rent a space of my own somewhere.

WordPress needs Twitter integration

I can’t believe I can’t add a Twitter badge to my sidebar because WordPress doesn’t offer support for JavaScript for freebie domains, nor does it offer support for the Flash version of the badges. How lame? So the only way I could include my tweets on my blog is via RSS, which updates at a snail’s pace. Mucho lameness.

My sites are officially offline

Apogeevr.com and slpixelpulse.com have officially been taken down. Much sadness. Two generous individuals (one of whom I haven’t even gotten back to yet) actually offered free site hosting, but things ultimately didn’t pan out. Part of the reason was that there were technical details involved that I just didn’t want to deal with right now.

Also, one other person offered to purchase the site, and I haven’t gotten back to that individual, either. Again, the transaction would have entailed details that I really have little time or patience for currently.

I do very much appreciate the interest and generosity everyone expressed, though. My sincere apologies for not responding in a timely fashion.

I think I broke a record today for longest time at my computer. It’s past 11:30 p.m. and I haven’t had dinner yet! The time got away from me while I was working on some new ideas. When I first started, it was like 4 p.m. Holy crap! Is that a bad thing? I was productive, after all.

Dreaming of nurturing

The other night I had this vivid dream that I was raising a young daughter. Weird, as I’ve always opted against having kids. Not that the dream necessarily means I long to have a child. (But if I ever did decide to be a parent, I would definitely prefer to raise a girl.)

Anyway, the one in my dream was maybe 8 years old and it felt fulfilling and cool looking after her. I wonder if this represents my nurturing side coming to the surface. Even though I haven’t started hormones yet, I do have a connection and understanding of my feminine self that’s deeper than ever before. Or maybe the girl represented my own blossoming femininity?

Above is one of the more unusual and interesting photos I took while checking out a few spots tonight on the Burning Life grounds in Second Life. Below is more standard fare, but alas, I love the colors. Overall, I didn’t see anything that was particularly stunning and impressive, although stuff is only in the early building phase and the festival does not begin until Sept. 24.

Art a new draw for me in-world

With all of its new rules and regulations, and with the addition of voice and all that other crap, there’s relatively little about Second Life that inspires me to log in anymore when I could spare the time. But I’ve been developing a keen interest in art in the physical world, and now I’d also like to explore what SL has to offer in that capacity.

Speaking of which, I’m looking forward to checking out the virtual grounds over at the annual Burning Life festival, which is scheduled for Sept. 24-Oct. 1. I’ll probably head over there either tonight or tomorrow night (or both) to see what’s what and check out some creations that are currently in the works.
